Today I am going to review a pumpkin ale. My wife is a huge fan of seasonal fall beers so I took this one from her collection.
Brewer: Smuttynose Brewing Company
Beer: Pumpkin Ale
ABV: 5.84%
Appearance / Body: Light amber in color with a slight cloudiness. The head was an off white that did not last very long.
Smell: The initial smell was of nutmeg, clove, malty with a light pumpkin note.
Taste: The taste was rather interesting. The initial flavor was of the nutmeg and clove. The pumpkin flavor had very little presences. The finish was bitter for a seasonal pumpkin ale.
The overall opinion on this beer is not a high one. If the finish wasn't as bitter and it had more pumpkin flavor I would of rated it higher. My overall rating on this beer is an 5.
