guilty pleasures

We who are cigar enthusiasts are living in some of the best times to be one.In my over 20 + years of enjoying premium cigars I can say that with out reservation. The choices from not only the tried and true brands such those under general and Altadis cigars but those of names like Perdomo,Patel and Hansotia offer a myriad of choices. I have'nt even mentioned the boutique blends out on the inter net that have come to the fore in the past decade! However I have to make a confession. There is one cigar out there that has always been......a guilty pleasure of mine.

Avanti cigars are a machine made cigar that has been around for...welll... forever. As a kid my great uncles would adjorn to  my great grandmothers front porch and light these anisett flavoured cigars up and drink thier lemon-cello.The liquorice smell that would permeate the air and the abrutzi Italian dialect would be just as thick. I have always kept a pack or two around for those times when I needed my fix of Pennsylvania madure broadleaf. A leaf I might add that is bieng re-discovered in brands like 5 vegas, pinar del rio,Padilla and Patel brothers to name some of the more prodominate ones.I still enjoy the bold and full flavor of these little cheroot cigars. Bieng a writter  and minor cigar savant(there so much I don't know) It may sound funny that I like to "sneak" in a machine made relic like the Avanti but these guys just stick with me. So now that I've come clean is there any one else who wants to share thier little guilty pleasure? I look forword to hearing about the marsh wheeling, munimaker closet smokers out there.....  ALL THE BEST-SMOKINJOE.

Been smokin' 'em for years. Add a cup of espresso and a Molinari neat, and it just doesn't get much better.
