A movie and a J&D Cigars Maduro Solomon

Recently I had the pleasure of speaking with J&D Cigars, a new brand that is soon to release in the USA. After speaking with him, I soon received in the mail a sample of their products. At the very first glance, it was easy to see the quality of the construction they put into their cigars. Each one looks superb, with no soft spots and a nice even color to each stick. Picking their Maduro Solomon, I clipped it and, sitting in my favorite recliner with the remote, prepared to give this cigar a test run. After turn the TV on and flipping through the channels, I landed on the old movie Dumb and Dumber (ok so I like stupid humor). Torching up, I was pleased with the peppery taste combined with wood and cocoa notes with a touch of raw nuts. As I watched the movie, they were driving down the road peeing in bottles and singing with the most hideous voices. After the first inch thing were getting more interesting, as the pepper backed off, but the wood now mixed with coffee were picking up in flavor at the medium strength range. After getting a new glass of ice tea, I was soon at the half waypoint and here is where the cigar got interesting with a surprise. The strength ramped up and the flavors of wood, cocoa powder and the addition of parched peanuts went into over drive. The smoke was abundant and leaving a creamy texture in the mouth with a long finish. Even though the power had grown, the well-balanced complexity of flavors that it gave was very delightful. After watching the part of the movie where one gave the other an intense laxative and the outcome was a given, I was now nearing the end of the cigar. The flavors carried strong and bold not letting you down from puff to puff, with the coffee now dark and rich, wood notes that were reminiscent of a bonfire, thick parched peanuts and leather showing at the very end. What a cigar this was, packed with surprises and boldness in flavor. J&D Cigars will be a welcome addition, and very much worth a try. Each cigar that I have seen looks great and the Maduro Solomon is perfect for those that like strength and bold flavor. Look for them soon and give them a try, I’ll be getting more.

Sounds like the perfect flavor profile - looking forward to tasting one for myself!
